Abstract
ThecompressivebehaviorsofapressedPTFE/AlenergeticcompositematerialwereexperimentallyinvestigatedbysplitHopkinsonpressurebarsandquasi-
staticbehaviorsbyauniversaltestingmachineatroomtemperature.
Stress-straincurvesofthematerialwereobtainedinthestrainrate
rangefrom10-3s-1to103 s-1.Accordingtotheanalysisonthecompressivebehavioratdifferent
strainrates,theconstitutiverelationconsideringstrain-hardeningeffectandstrainrateeffectweredevelopedbasedontheJohnson-
Cookplasticmodel.ThepenetrationofapressedPTFE/Alcomposite
projectileintoasteeltargetwasnumericallysimulatedbyusingthedevelopedconstitutiverelation.
Thesimulatedresultsareclosetotheexperimentalresults,whichvalidatesthereliabilityandrationalityofthedevelopedconstitutiverelation,
andcanbeusedtoinstructtheapplicationofthePTFE/Al
material.
