Abstract
Basedonbriefanalysisofstatusquoandremovalmechanismofmachiningtechnologiesfor
engineeringceramic,amachiningsystemofelectrodearcstrikingmicro-detonation(MDEAS)wasdesignedanddevelopedindependentlybyreferringtothebasictheoryofelectrodedischargeandthe
technologyofhigh-efficiencyripplecontrol.Aspecialpulsepowersupply,whichwasthekeypartof
thissystem,wasintroducedfromitsstructureandfunctionindetail.AndagreatmanymachiningexperimentsonSi3N4ceramicmaterialwereconductedbytheMDEAStechnologytodeterminetheappliedrangesofthemainm
chiningparametersandthemachiningperformancesofthissystem were
analyzed.ThentheMDEAStechnologywasbrieflycomparedwithothermachiningtechnologiessuch
aslaser,electricaldischarge,plasmaarcandtraditionalgrinding.ResultsdisplaythattheMDEAS
technologyisabrand-newandlow-costmachiningtechnology,andithaswideappliedfields.
