Abstract

Abstract

Thebasicprinciplesofchimneyblastingdemolitionwereintroduced.Aimedtothecollapsingprocessofchimneys, themechanicalmodelsweredevelopedtoderivethelargestrangesofchimneybendingmomentandshearstressbythemathematicalmethods. Andthecollapsingprocessesof chimneysweresimulatednumericallybyusingthefiniteelementsoftwareLS-DYNA3Dandthesimulatedresultswerecomparedwiththeactualcollapsingprocessofchimneys. ItisrevealedthatthefiniteelementsoftwareLS- DYNA3Dcanbeusedtostimulatethecollapsingprocessofchimneyblasting, forinstance,thepartsatthedistancesfromthegroundabout1/3,1/2,and2/3,wherethere arestressconcentrationphenomena,areeasilytobebrokenduringthecollapsingprocess.Thebroken partandtimeofthechimneylinkscloselytothecuttingshapeandthephysicalandmechanicalpropertiesofthestructureitself. Thereisobviousdifferencebetweenthebrickchimneyandreinforcedconcretechimney.
