Abstract
Accordingtothechaostheory,basedonavastamountofprimarydataofsmall-scalecompartmentfireexperiments,
anewflashovercriterionwhichareindicatedbythetemperatureriserate
areputforward.Bythetestedresultsoflarge-scalefires,thepracticalityofthecriterionisinitially
verified.Theresultsshowthatthiscriterioncanbeusedtopredictthelikelihoodofflashoverinlargescalerealenclosurefires.
