Abstract
Aseriesofexperimentswereconductedtoinvestigatethesynchronyofthemulti-pointring
initiatorappliedtoashapedchargeandthepenetrationcapabilityoftheshapedchargeswiththemultipointringinitiatorsintoreinforcedconcr
tetargets.Theoutputsynchronyofallpointsofthemultipointringinitiatorwasmeasuredbyusingthehigh-
speedphotographyandfiberprobetechnique.Itis
showedthattheoutputsynchronyofallpointsisgoodandthelongesttimedifferenceislessthan
0.1s.Theshapedchargeswereinitiatedtopenetrateintoreinforcedconcretetargetsbyapplyingthe
multi-pointringinitiatorsandthecentralpointinitiation,respectively.Comparisonoftheexperimentalresultsshowsthatthemulti-
pointringinitiatorscanimprovemarkedlythepenetrationcapability
oftheshapedcharges.
