Abstract
Pressureprofileofplasmaisoneofthemostimportantfactorsfortheeffectsoflasershock
peening.Inthepresentresearch,aone-dimensionalcouplingmodelforcomputingplasmapressureis
establishedbasedonenergyconservationconditioninthesystem,inwhichtheinterfacevaporization
velocityandthenonlinearrelationshipbetweentheshockpressureandthesurfaceparticlevelocityare
considered.Then,theexplicitdifferenceprogramandtheLS-DYNApackageareusedtocalculatethe
plasmapressurefordifferentlaserpowerdensitywithgiventime-historyprofile.Thesimulationresultsshowagoodagreementwiththeexperimentalresults,
whichindicatestheconsistencyoftheanalyticalmodel.
Therefore,aneffectivemethodisprovidedtopredicttheplasmapressureinducedby
lasershockpeening.
