Abstract:AkineticinterfacefrictionmodelisproposedbasedonthekineticfrictiontestsbyMengto
describethevariationofkineticfrictioncoefficientwiththemaximumradialrelativevelocitybetween
theSHPBpolycarbonate(PC)specimenandsteelpressurebars.Thekineticinterfacefrictionmodel
andtheconstantfrictioncoefficientmodelareimplementedintothenumericalsimulationsofSHPB
tests.Itshowsthatusingdifferentinterfacialfrictionmodelshaslittleinfluenceonthetransitional
strainrate(intheorderof102s-1)obtainedfromthenumericalsimulationsofSHPBtestsonpolymerspecimens.
Whilethestrain-rateexceedsthetransitionalstrainrate,thisinfluenceisobvious,
anditisnecessarytousethekineticinterfacialfrictionmodel,ratherthantheconstantfrictioncoefficientmodelforobtainingmoreaccuratenumericalsimulationsofSHPBtestsonpolymerspecimens.
