Abstract
SevenkindsofRDX-basedhighexplosivesampleswithdifferentdensitieswerepreparedto
studytheinfluencesofexplosivechargedensitiesoncook-offresponse.Theslowcook-offexperiments
wereconductedbyusingthecook-offbombswiththelength-diameterratioofabout1.2attherateof
(10.2)℃/min.Theresultsindicatethatapressureburstoccursinthetestsat94.5%theoretical
maximumdensityandadeflagrationoccursat70%theoreticalmaximumdensity.Thetestsundergoa
deflagrationtodetonationtransition (DDT)atabout80%theoreticalmaximumdensityandtheresponseisviolent.
Theresultswillsupplyahelpforreducingthehotcook-offvulnerabilityofammunitionaswellasthestudyontheslowcook-
offmechanism.
